When I was offered the opportunity to go behind the scenes on a Belle Trains luxury steam train holiday headed to the Alps, I jumped at the chance. Getting up close and personal with some huge steam locomotives, experiencing an abundance of delicious food, being looked after by some of the friendliest and most efficient staff I’ve ever come across… and the views. Well, breathtaking doesn’t really do them justice.

THIS was going to be the trip of a lifetime.
